Nicole by OPI has struck again after the ridiculously successful release of their collaboration collection with Justin Beiber! I remember hearing about how the Beiber polishes were sold out in every Walmart in the country, and although I can’t comment on the validity of that rumor I can say that the only place I could find those polishes was in my local Claires. This was a shock because Nicole by OPI is available almost everywhere nail polish is sold and yet only in the last few months have I seen some of the Beiber shades popping up again. Now the OPI brand has collaborated with the Kardashians to create and even larger collection. I am making a prediction right now that this collection will be even hotter than the Beiber one. The Kardashians have a wider fan base than just tweens and moms with tween kids and they also have their hands in an even wider range of products. Not to say that boys don’t know about beauty, but pairing Beiber with nail polish was more of a public relations and advertising move to sell to younger girls than an artistic collaboration to create cool nail polish. I am more excited to buy a collection that has celebrities who actually dabble in the fashion and beauty world … and not to mention celebrities who wear nail polish!
All that is available right now is promotional pictures, but from the images I am getting excited about a few of the polishes. Most I already have in my collection from other brands, but a few seem slightly original. I do want to comment on how every single brand is now making dupes of the wildly popular Deborah Lippmann “Happy Birthday” polish that is a mess load of confetti glitter. Wet n Wild, Hottopic, Sephora by OPI and now Nicole by OPI now are making cheaper versions of the party in a bottle that goes for $18 and can only be found in certain stores or online. Judging by the picture, “Rainbow in the S-Kylie” is just another one of those multi-colored glitters suspended in clear polish.
The names bear the OPI charm and quirkiness and a few of them actually did make me laugh out loud, such as “Listen to your Momager”. Of course, I have already put the glitters on my wish list but I am also excited to check out the only one that bears the name of my favorite Kardashian, Khloe! I don’t have a deep cream teal in my collection and that one might turn into a must have for me after drooling over the promotional materials until the release date. I’ve done quite a bit of research and I can’t seem to find a release date but they are promising this as a holiday collection. Hopefully I won’t be the only one looking forward to this collection!
