Fall nail polish collections have been popping up everywhere for the last few months. Promotional pictures are on every big bloggers sites, so naturally I have to follow suite, late as usual. I have been forming my opinions about these collections over the last 2 or 3 weeks based off of pictures of swatches and displays, and now I feel comfortable enough giving my opinion. I’m kind of excited! I don’t know why because there aren’t that many terribly unique colors, but there are colors that I don’t own! Shocking!
I am already putting down certain colors from every collection on my wish list, and China Glaze is no exception. Not a terribly unique concept to have jewel toned, deep colors for fall but there are a few that have caught my eye. This collection has the same deep creme shades as every other fall collection but they have included some of those ‘ugly pretty’ colors that are my favorite to wear. They are in every collection but still seem to be interesting and I don’t see girls wearing them in real life. This collection has 3 shimmers, 7 cremes and 2 glitters, which also seems to fit very well with fall trends having dark cremes be the center focus.
This collection is in a similar fashion to Zoya’s collections, where its split into two parts:
Left to Right: CG in the City, Urban-Night, Traffic Jam, City Siren, Brownstone and Street Chic.
Uptown is the warmer half of the collection, presenting all purples, reds, bricks and the greyish purple. In my personal opinion, I’m not terribly impressed. This half of the collection is all creme with 1 glitter, and from the swatches I’ve seen they seem to be nicely pigmented with the exception of the glitter. I have a feeling CG in the City glitter will have to be used as a layering glitter over some of the darker shades, but after 3 or 4 coats it could be close to opaque. But again, not my style to wear dark pinks or reds. I like Brownstone, but not enough to buy it.
