Lady Muck is an Ice Queen?

Being in law school has made it harder to change my manicure as often as I used to.  It seems odd to me that while my classes each day don’t last as long as a normal 8 hour work day, I am finding it harder to find time to devote to my crazy obsession.  When I did have a normal 9-6 job I was changing my manicure every single day and now that I only have class for 4 to 6 hours a day, I don’t have as much time to devote to my nails like I used to.  I’m a little confused about that but maybe it has to do with the fact that I am studying for 4 to 6 hours after going to class for 4 to 6 hours and by the time I’m done with my work, my brain hurts so much that all I want to do is sleep.  So for the last few weeks I’ve been rocking the same color nails until chipping forces me to take it off.  I haven’t done this ever … never ever!   I have no clue on how long most of the polishes in my collection wear because I don’t leave them on long enough to find out how long it takes for chipping.  I don’t do wear tests because I get bored easily.  But now, I have been leaving manicures on until I literally can’t stomach them anymore.  And that was the case for this manicure.

Butter London “Lady Muck” is a light greyish blue with silver micro-shimmer, that is almost an exact dupe for China Glaze “Seaspray”.  I put that on and rocked it for 4 days without any chipping, but I literally couldn’t stand looking at my nails anymore because I was so sick of the color.  I didn’t have time to take the polish off and put on a new color so I decided to put something over it.  I remembered a post I saw on where Michelle (the site operator and master swatcher) paired a grey with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails “Ice Queen”, a clear based glitter with silver micro-glitter and large pieces of purple and blue glitter.  I have had that polish for a few months and haven’t been able to make it work for me, so I decided to take a chance and emulate my nail hero.  I’m not super thrilled with the outcome and still am not sold completely on Ice Queen, the purple and blue glitter is too sparse and doesn’t seem to match with any other colors I own.  Maybe I need to layer it over something a lot darker, but right now I’m not going to be reaching for this one all that often.  On the bright side, this is day 6 and still no chipping and this is also without a top coat.  The wear on both of these polishes are amazing, I just wish I loved the combo.
