Deborah Lippmann “Mermaids Dream”

I cracked.  I finally broke down and bought Deborah Lippmann’s “Mermaids Dream”.  I was on the fence about this polish for the longest time and honestly I can’t tell you why.  I think I was telling myself that I didn’t like the finish, didn’t like the color, and thought the finished application looked too gritty.  But even looking at the bottle on my table in front of me, I am telling myself I was crazy.  Everything about this polish screams “ME!”, its a foil, it has glitter, its an aqua blue and it even has a little gold shimmer to it.  I love foil finishes and glitters because they jump off your nails and demand your attention.  The only thing I don’t love is the price and the fact that I have to always order Deborah Lippmann off Amazon.  But this polish ended up being a much better formula than I expected.

This is 2 coats and while I do think it looks a little gritty, a thick top coat pretty much made it feel smooth.  Applying this polish was like applying butter, which should never have surprised me since you get what you pay for with Deborah Lippmann.  The blue glitters were the perfect amount and were easy to get on the nail.  Needless to say, this is going to be a staple summer color and I am so excited to paint my nails with this again.  This is probably going on my toes immediately and I haven’t even mentioned the best part of this polish yet … It wasn’t a giant pain in the ass to remove! Came off really easily considering it has glitter!
