Day 1 of the 30 Day Makeup Challenge

Day 1: A total inventory of all the makeup and makeup tools you own

I know my makeup collection isn’t as large as some other bloggers.  This might go against some unspoken blogger rule, but I don’t like to have a large collection because makeup goes bad.  Honestly, I am of the mindset that there is a finite number of different eye shadows and lip colors, so I don’t need to have 400 different lipsticks.  This is my closet in my bathroom.  In the apartment that I’m currently living in, I have my own bathroom.  The closet inside my bathroom is really narrow, but fits 2 of these 3 drawer containers from Target nicely.  This is where I store all my hair products, makeup, hair tools and makeup tools.  Keep reading for more pictures!

I didn’t take close ups of each drawer because I’m planning on one day doing a makeup collection video for my YouTube channel.  But hopefully you get the idea!

Top Drawer: All my foundations, tinted moisturizers and concealers.  I don’t own that many because out of all my makeup products, I hate having a lot of face products.  I’m paranoid about bacteria in the products I use all over my face, these definitely do go bad if you have them for a long period of time and can cause break outs

Middle Drawer: Blushes, highlighters and bronzers.  I only have 3 bronzers and 3 highlighters.  This drawer is almost completely filled with blush.  Yes, I have a weakness for blush.

Bottom Drawer: Single eyeshadows and smaller eye shadow palettes.  Not all my palettes fit in here, but I crammed as much eye shadow as I could fit in this drawer.  Its kind of a puzzle trying to make sure it all fits.

Top Drawer: Eye liners, mascaras, glitter and pigments. This is my favorite drawer 🙂 I have so many different color liners in pencil, gel and liquid.  I don’t own too many pigments or glitter, and mascara is my all time favorite makeup product.  (sneak peak, I have a few mascara reviews coming up)

Middle Drawer: Lip products.  Chapstick, lip gloss, lipstick and lip stains.  I’m not the biggest fan of lip products but I have a lot.  I rarely wear lipstick, I am allergic to some lip glosses, so I go crazy with chapstick.  But I have a slight weakness for Tart lip surgence lip stains.  So I have a few of those as well.

Bottom Drawer: Tools and some nail stuff.  I have a package of sponges, a beauty blender dupe, scissors, tweezers, nail clippers, extra top coats and base coats, and nail files.

I keep my brushes in 2 coffee mugs.  I did that because I didn’t want to buy a container because I’m cheap and also because I need a “big girl” coffee mug that holds half a pot of coffee at a time.  These itty-bitty cups weren’t working for me, so they get to hold my brushes now.  Yes, a lot are dirty.  No, I don’t own that many.  Again, I don’t feel like I need 10 different eye shadow fluffy brushes for blending as long as I have a few that work well for me.

And that’s my makeup collection! I know it might not be as impressive as other people’s collections, but it works for me.  Hopefully you guys like this!

  1. I agree there is no need for a huge collection… You should do a youtube video on ur blush/bronzer/highlighter drawer.

  2. Random question: where did you get those pots of raspberry plum lip balms? They look so familiar, I think I had some sort of Peach one when I was younger… They take me back. Good solid collection! 🙂

    • Thanks! And I got them from bath and body works when I was younger. I loved them because the “seeds” inside were suppose to be like raspberry seeds and they are little balls of pigment that once they pop it gives your lips a pretty color. Totally old but I still use them

  3. How great are those Milani blushes? I love them! Can’t go wrong with Tarte, either…I just got the limited edition achiote set by Tarte and the lipsurgence is amazing. I’m tempted to get a back up!
