I’m totally cheating and tying in my 30 Day Makeup Challenge post with my nail polish post today. Day 12 of the makeup challenge is supposed to be all about glitter. Day 12 literally just says “Glitter, lots of it!” I originally planned to do a glitter makeup look and actually had a lot of fun looking through my makeup collection to get inspiration. In the end I decided that I’m going to stay true to myself and just do a glitter manicure. While I do have glitter makeup, I think I’ve worn it one time and it was on Halloween, but I wear glitter on my nails at least twice a week. So I decided to play with the newest glitter to my collection and the newest addition to the Essie Lux Effects collection.
Essie “Stoke of Brilliance” is a medium toned denim blue chunky glitter. The minute that I found out that Essie was going to be making another chunky glitter, I knew I had to have it. A Cut Above, the pink twin sister of this polish, is one of my favorite pinks of all time because its super dense, easy to work with, and dries quickly. This polish is no different! This is 1 coat over Butter London “Lillibet’s Jubilee”. I found that the glitter wasn’t super thick but still very dense. It dried quickly and was not hard to get the glitter to evenly spread out across the nail. I can’t wait to try out some jelly sandwich combos with this polish!
Do any of you have this polish? What do you guys think? Any color combination suggestions for this polish??
I love this color! I don’t really like it on other colors, because I feel like those colors make it hard to see the actual color of the glitter, but that might just be me.
yeah i am having a hard time trying to figure out what to use it with. i’ve now tried it with this butter london and essies “borrowed and blue” which is a light blue. i’m gonna try some jelly sandwiches with it to see how those turn out
Love the glitters. Maybe underneath a black polish or purple?
oh it would be so nice over black! i might have to try that
