Sinful Colors “Rain Storm”

I know that blogging about Sinful Colors lately has, for lack of a better word, been a sin.  For all of you who aren’t aware, Sinful colors did some unethical things to some well known bloggers.  I’m not going to really comment on that situation because it didn’t happen to me.  While a lot of other bloggers are boycotting Sinful Colors, I still have a hard time resisting these polishes.  While I don’t approve or condone what they did, Revlon seems to be handling it in a positive and professional way.  It doesn’t take away from the fact that these are some of the best drugstore polishes. Case in point, this polish.

Sinful Colors “Rain Storm” is a an opaque slate blue creme. I’ve wanted a slate blue creme for a while now and when I saw this at Walgreens I had to have it, regardless of Sinful Color’s reputation right now. When I say opaque, I mean opaque! This is a one coat polish! I was so shocked when I applied the first streak and saw that it was completely opaque.

Formula was great.  It wasn’t too thick like a lot of opaque polishes.  It was the perfect consistency.  Dry time was pretty quick as well.  No complaints on the formula.  The only thing I don’t like is that it didn’t dry that glossy.  It kind of dries to has a hazy finish, half glossy half matte, where it looks like your nails are dirty or filmy.  A top coat obviously fixes that but that is my only complaint on this polish.

What do you guys think? Are you boycotting Sinful Colors or are you willing to give the brand another chance?

  1. I have this color and I love it! I thought stealing those bloggers’ images was ridiculous and what makes it worse is that no Sinful Colors polishes were even used in those, plus they tried to pass of a nail stamp design as something done with a toothpick. However, I don’t necessarily blame the brand as a whole. Graphics departments tend to make those decisions. So, I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt and I do believe they’ve tried to make it right.

    • yeah i totally don’t agree with what sinful colors did but i definitely agree with you that it was probably the graphics department, and they probably just did a google image search and found those images. i’m sticking with sinful colors for now because they seem to be trying to make things right
