Its no secret that I’m a mascara junkie, but for some reason this month I’ve been going absolutely crazy with buying up mascaras. Aside from this mascara, I also have 2 more that I have to show you guys! Just a warning for the future. I think I always love trying out mascaras because I’m on the hunt for the perfect mascara. There are ones that have come really close and ones that I loved so much that I bought over and over for months straight. But in the last 2 years I haven’t been able to find that mascara that has just blown me away. So I keep switching it up and buying new ones. My newest mascara to my long list of ones I’ve tried is the Loreal Lash Out. I was loving my Loreal Full Definition so I felt like I would give another Loreal mascara a try.
Loreal Lash Out mascara is supposed to be super lengthening mascara. I normally don’t go to lengthening mascara because I don’t have a problem with the length of my natural lashes. I don’t mean to sound like I’m bragging but I don’t think I need to focus on adding length because my lashes are a nice length naturally. I would rather focus on a mascara that majorly darkens my lashes, because I have very light (almost blonde) lashes, and a mascara that adds a lot of volume. So this is one of the few times trying out a purely lengthening mascara and not one that promises length and volume.
So how does it add up?
2 coats on the top lashes, none on the bottom
What I like: this mascara does give me a lot of length! I think this is one of the most lengthening mascaras I’ve ever tried! I guess it pays to grab a mascara that only promises length, because it definitely doesn’t fall short (pun totally intended). Also, it doesn’t clump! This mascara gets points for that one. It nicely coats each lash and keeps them separated, and leaves a natural fluttery lash look. It also isn’t an overly wet or dry formula, its right in the middle.
What I don’t like: I don’t like how it gives me the mascara balls at the end of my lashes. That is one of my pet peeves with mascaras and I always remove those, but I left them there to give you guys the full effect. What I mean by the mascara balls, is that for those types of mascaras that are supposed to be buildable with either length of volume, the tips of your lashes get little balls of excess product on them. I think it makes my lashes look like I have spider lashes, even when I don’t, because the balls give the look like you’re wearing too much mascara. It isn’t the blackest formula either. But the biggest complaint I have is that this mascara melts on my lashes! It isn’t that long wearing at all. And one time when it melted and got into my eye and I sincerely thought I was going to need to get my eye removed. I’ve never had a product hurt my eye so much! This bitch stings and its a sting that doesn’t want to let go! Be warned, if you have sensitive eyes or watery eyes and it gets in there this is going to hurt.
Overall, I like this but don’t love it. I think its going to be an AWESOME layering mascara because it does give so much length and if I wear it with a super voluminous mascara then I’ll have an incredible fake lash look. On its own it looks really nice as well but I’ll definitely be removing the mascara balls on the ends. And this isn’t long wearing so if you’re looking for one that will last all day, this might not be for you. I like it for light makeup days and for the times when I’m running errands.
