Back in September I signed up for a service called Coterie. I saw on Instagram that this service Coterie was running a special on Butter London polishes, where you could get 3 polishes and a top coat for $25! Considering that a Butter London polish is normally $14 on its own and the top coat is $18, that’s a saving of $35! That completely sold me! And then I found a code for $15 off your first purchase. With shipping, 3 Butter London polishes and a top coat that would normally cost $60 cost me only $15 with shipping. I’m still signed up on Coterie and they have run other specials with Butter London, but I haven’t taken advantage of using the service except for the first time. This is the last of the 3 polishes that I had to try out, and funnily enough it was the first one I picked out. This polish seems to have a little bit of a cult status for Butter London lovers and I finally know what people are talking about when they add this to their BL favorites lists.
Butter London “All Hail The Queen” is a nude that is packed with silver microshimmer. The shimmer that is in this polish seems almost holographic/duochromatic. It kind of shifts to pink, green, red, silver, and gold. But its so subtle, that the only time I notice it is if I’m in direct sunlight and I’m looking very very closely. This polish plays tricks on your eyes, where one minute its a warm nude with amazing shine, and other moments it seems like a mannequin hands type manicure. I think that’s why I’m so mesmerized by this polish. But with all that said, in the end its still just a nude polish, just one that is a little bit more fun.
The formula on this polish was a little bit of a downer. Butter London polishes are amazing but this one was rather sheer. This took 3 coats to get completely opaque, which was a let down. Half the BL polishes I have are 1 coaters, and this one was really thin, sheer and watery. The dry time was pretty fast though, so although you have to do a lot of coats and work with it a little, your manicure won’t take that long.
What do you think of this polish? Do any of you have it? What are your favorite nude/neutral polishes?
