Welcome to my very first edition of Throwback Thursday! I wanted to start an ongoing series on my blog where I can feature some of my older polishes. I was inspired by the hashtag on Instagram called #throwbackthursday or #tbt. The idea is that people upload old pictures of themselves every Thursday, whether it be pictures from their childhood or pictures from just a couple years ago. I wanted to start to feature some of my older polishes because I have so many old polishes that I’ve never shown! I realized that when I was doing my ROY G BIV series and tried to find swatches of some of my all time favorites. I’ve only been blogging for a little over a year (technically longer, but who’s counting?), but I’ve been a nail polish addict for much longer. So welcome to my first post! And my first one was a polish that I used to swear by!
Sally Hansen “Gunmetal” is a dark charcoal metallic grey. While the name isn’t that original, I can’t think of a better name for this polish because it really is a true gunmetal. I lived in this polish for an entire winter! I loved it so much that I finished the entire bottle! This happens to be my second bottle and is actually my first time trying out this polish again in about 2 or 3 years.
I guess this is a good part about trying out new polishes again for this series because I remembered loving this one. Now, not so much! I do love the color but the formula was awful. Just look how streaky this polish is, and this is 2 coats! I love the dark grey with a slight blue tone to it, but I wish it wasn’t a streaky mess. Also, this polish is super thick! The dry time is also pretty slow. I guess it was a shock after trying an old favorite that I don’t love it as much as I did.
What do you guys think? Do you want me to continue this series? Do you guys have any old favorites?
