China Glaze “Dress Me Up”

IMG_5690Right now there are 2 things I’m completely obsessed with, nude nail polish and dystopian novels.  My brother gave me the first two books in the Divergent trilogy for Christmas and I read both of them in 3 days.  And after New Years Eve, I was really sick of dark polishes and was craving something nude.  I go in cycles every year and tend to wear the same polishes every season.  In the Spring, I love pastels. In the Summer, I live in brights, yellows and white.  In the Fall, I love the jewel tones and rich hues.  And in the Winter, I’m all about the super dark polishes and classy nude polishes.  So when I was going through my polishes and realized I had never featured one of the polishes from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection and its also a nude style polish, I immediately grabbed it and put it on.

IMG_5691China Glaze “Dress Me Up” is a peachy pink nude, rose beige creme and I wore it once before for a job interview.  I completely forgot to take pictures of it when I first wore it, and remembered not being completely in love.  It goes to show that sometimes you have to be in the right mindset to really appreciate a polish.  I hated this polish when I first wore it when it came out last Spring and now I don’t want to take it off!

The formula of this polish is fantastic!!! After the last few polishes I’ve worn with awful formulas, this was like the heavens shining down.  This is just 1 coat! This is a 1 coat nude polish. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that! Also, these pictures were taken without a top coat! Just look how glossy this polish is. It is a little thick but not awful thick and the dry time is pretty average.  Overall, this is just really easy to deal with and I’m so into it right now!

What do you guys think? What are your favorite nudes? What are your favorite polishes from the Hunger Games collection?

  1. This is SO pretty!!!! Looks great on you too! I have quite a few polishes from the HG collection. I absolutely LOVE Agro and Riveting…and Harvest Moon!

  2. This colour is beautiful Holly! I just received an OPI one that I ordered online that looks really similar which I haven’t been able to try yet. It’s called “Tickle My France-y” , are you familiar with that one? I wonder how close to being dupes they are.

    • wow where did you get tickle my france-y? i heard it was majorly discontinued and super hard to get! it isn’t really a dupe because the china glaze is much more pink. i heard a dupe is misa “high waist hue” but i don’t have either so i don’t know i’m sorry!

      • Hehe, no worries Holly. I just figured you might know because you have such a vast collection. I actually got Tickle My France-Y off Beyond the Rack about a month ago. They always get discontinued lines and sell them out to us lowly Canadian’s at a discounted price. MAC too…designer shoes, bags, that sort of thing. Pretty cool company actually. 🙂 But hard on the bank account!
