Today I have for you the first 6 piece collection from the Color Club Halo Hues Collection! This is the first time I’ve ever purchased an entire collection but this is also the first time that I’ve been blown away by every single shade. I missed out on the China Glaze OMG collection and never purchased any of the Layla holographics. So aside from a few random Glitter Gal polishes, these are my first holographics! And I couldn’t have popped my holos cherry in a better fashion!
This is part 1 of the collection. Color Club released these first 6 polishes in late 2012, and then released another 6 in the beginning of January.
Keep reading to see the first 6 polishes!
First up we have Cherubic, which is a neutral light nude holographic. It definitely is the most beige or nude toned of all of the polishes but also one of the polishes (in all 12) that has the most recognizable shift to ever color of the rainbow. You really do see the full ROY G BIV spectrum. This one is one of my favorites!
Halo-graphic is a light pink holographic. Did Color Club get tired and give up on this name? Its a warm toned pink that does have a little bit of a purple tone to it. Its very close to the purple one, just warmer.
Cloud Nine is a light purple holographic. My skin tone hates all lavenders and lilac colors, which is a shame because that is one of my favorite colors in nature. But this is one of the only light purples that I’ve ever worn that I feel like I could pull off! This will definitely be a staple come spring time.
Angel Kiss is a turquoise green holographic. This is supposed to be their green one, but honestly this leans so blue that its hard to tell the blue and green polishes apart. If I didn’t know which order I took the pictures, I don’t know if I would have been able to tell these two apart. In the bottle they look more unique, but on the nail they’re really similar. But since I love green, teal, turquoise and blue, I don’t mind at all!
Sorry this picture is a little blurry! I didn’t realize it until I uploaded the pictures. Blue Heaven is a light blue holographic. Its stunning but like I said its really similar to Angel Kiss. I think you may be able to pick up just 1 of the 2, its just whichever color you have more of a preference towards.
Last but definitely not least, we have Harp On It which is the silver holographic. I have another silver holographic so be prepared for a comparison post! But this is the one that I was the most excited to get. When I think of a holographic polish, silver is always the color that comes to mind first. This one also gives a really strong rainbow and you can see the full spectrum!
The formula on these were all exactly the same, the perfect middle ground between thick and thin consistency. They all applied so smoothly! And my favorite part is that all of these can be 1 coaters with 1 thick coat! A lot of them I did just apply 1 thick coat, but some I took my time and did 2 thin coats. The dry time is really fast as well so these are turning into go-to colors for a fast manicure.
Overall I absolutely LOVE these!! I haven’t been this impressed with a collection in so long! I will say that the purple and pink are really similar and the blue and green are similar. If you don’t want to buy all of them, you can pass on 2 of them depending on which ones you have a preference for. Me personally, I like them all so I’m glad to have them all in my collection!
Stay tuned for the second half of this collection!
What are your thoughts? Do any of you have these? Which are your favorites?
