I have for you guys today my very first Illamasqua polish! I have always wanted to try out Illamasqua but my Sephora didn’t have the best selection. So when my boyfriend surprised me with a few Illamasqua polishes as my Valentines day present, I was over the moon. To make a really long story short, he saw me hunting for Illamasqua “Raindrops” when it was recently repromoted without any luck. Well, he found it and also surprised me with a few more gems.
In the beginning I wasn’t really interested in the Illamasqua Speckled collection. I had seen some promotional pictures and while they were really cool and unique, I didn’t think they would be something I would wear that often. But my boyfriend knows me better than I know myself because he picked up 2 from the Speckled collection and needless to say, I’m in love.
Illamasqua “Freckle” is a tan creme base with matte black small hex glitter and microglitter. I seriously am so impressed with this polish! It really does remind me of freckles on someones skin, and I will let you guys in on a little secret … I’m in love with my freckles. They are more prominent in the summer and its one of the few things that I can say I think is beautiful about me (I don’t have that self confidence with other things). Plus the tan tone is really ideal for me because it doesn’t blend in with my skin, nor look too dark.
The formula on this polish was fantastic! It basically applied itself. The brushes on an Illamasqua polish make it easy to apply this polish. It was the perfect consistency, not to thick and not to thin either. I was able to apply 2 thin coats and its completely opaque. The dry time was almost instantaneous! On top of that, this stayed on for a long time! I had it on for 4 days without a single chip before I took it off myself because I wanted to switch it up. I have completely changed my mind and wait till I show you the other Speckled polish that I got because that one is even more stunning!
What do you guys think? What do you think of the Speckled collection? What are your favorite Illamasqua polishes?
