I said in one of my last posts that I was in a little bit of a blogging rut. I think its a little case of seasonal depression, as I’m almost through month 5 and soon to be entering month 6 of straight snow and grey skies. But tomorrow is the first official day of spring, so there is definite light at the end of the very grey tunnel!
I contemplated showcasing a really bright and cheery color, but I figured I would wear a color that not only matches my mood but matches my city! Little hint, I hail from the Rust Belt of America with steel mills in my backyard and blue collar neighbors.
Catrice “Steel My Soul” is a purple toned grey matte polish with gold microshimmer. This polish really does look like cold steel in the sunlight! I can’t even begin to express just how much I love the color and finish of this polish. From someone who grew up around steel mills and used to hunt of iron ore the way some people hunt of sea glass at the beach, this color totally reminds me of brushed steel. This polish was a part of the Brushed Metals line of Catrice polishes and honestly couldn’t think of a better name for the line or a better name for this particular polish.
The formula on this polish is just as amazing as the color. The polish went on perfectly in 2 coats and dried really really quickly. When it’s left matte, you can see the ridges of my nails, but in my opinion that just adds to the whole effect of looking like steel. I had to apply a top coat to see what it would look like, but I like it without a top coat much better. The top coat almost makes it look gritty. But oh well, I absolutely love this polish and really want to put it back on right now!
What do you guys think? Do you have any Catrice polishes? Which are your favorites?
