Throwback Thursday! Sephora by OPI “Mr. Right Now”

IMG_6292I’m really trying my best to get back into the swing of blogging.  So I figured I would do another Throwback Thursday post! I haven’t done one of these in a while, so if you’re new to my blog this was a type of post that I started doing a few months ago.  When you’re always blogging about new polishes, sometimes your old favorites get pushed to the back.  So I took inspiration from the Instagram post #TBT or Throwback Thursday, where people show pictures from years ago.  On Thursdays I pick a polish that I haven’t worn in a while and give it another moment in the spotlight.

Today I have one of my favorite red polishes of all time, Sephora by OPI “Mr. Right Now.”  This is my go-to red polish, and if I’m honest with myself I would say it is my all time favorite.  Its bright enough to be classic, but dark enough to be sexy.

IMG_6293The best part about this polish is that it is a jelly formula! Its no secret that I love jellies … my last post was a battle of the jellies … this one holds a special place in my heart because it was also one of my first jellies.  While it never fails that I get this polish all over my skin every single time I wear it, the formula is great.  It isn’t too thick or thin and really easy to work with.  It does take 3 coats to get opaque, but the finish is so glossy and eye catching that I don’t mind at all.  These pictures were taken without a top coat, just to give you an idea of how glossy this polish is!

What do you guys think? What is your go-to red polish?

  1. Oh my lord…that is gorgeous on you! ♥ That’s amazing that you’re not even wearing a top coat!! My go-to red would probably be Zoya’s Sooki. OR butter LONDON’s Come to Bed Red. And I can’t NOT mention Chanel’s Rouge Carat and Orly’s Grave Mistake. :-\ I mean…you knew I couldn’t just pick one, right?! lol

    • aww thanks lu! i’ve had my eye on sooki for a while and i think it would be AWESOME in the summer because it seems so bright and classic. and i know picking just 1 is a ludicrous thing to ask lol i could never just pick one

  2. Thanks for posting! I bought this polish recently and I am SO excited to wear it. It looks stunning on your nails. I have the hardest time finding reds that I like and this may be my perfect red. 🙂

    • aww thanks! i hope that this one turns out to be a great red for you too! i was on the same hunt about a year and a half ago and went through so many red polishes looking for “my” perfect red. this one won for me, but i found a lot of other great ones in the process. which ones have you tried so far?

      • I love a vampy darker red so I eliminated the few lighter reds in my collection (Wet n Wild’s I Red a Good Book, OPI Danke Shiny Red, Julep’s Rose-a pretty color, but it is more of a pinkish-red color). I really like Julep’s Molly. It’s definitely not as deep as Mr. Right Now, but if I want something that is a little closer to a true red, but not as bright (if that makes sense) I go for this one. I also like China Glaze’s Adventure Red-y, but it leans a little bit more on the browner side. Still really pretty though. I want to try Essie’s Limited Addiction. I don’t think it will be dark enough for me, but it looks so pretty. So far Mr. Right Now is the standard to which all reds are measured. So gorgeous and sexy 🙂

    • aww thank you! i have a ton in my stash too. the first time i did this post i pulled out a polish that used to be one of my all time favorites (like 2 years ago) and now i hate it! thats why i started these posts. its funny how much you learn about the quality of a polish in such a short time and how your opinions can change.
