I’m finally done with finals! I took my last final last night and can officially say that I’m now in my 3rd and final year of law school. I could spend an entire post talking about how my second year of law school was one of the hardest and most challenging years of my life academically. But I won’t bore you with any of those little details. I will say that I’m officially done and I’m taking a much needed break from school!
I’m going to enjoy my summer break for a change. Last summer I took a full load of classes and was planning on doing the same this summer, but I need the 4 months to rehab my brain instead. And since I’m taking some much needed time off from school, I can finally dedicate more time to my blog. And figured I would start off with a polish that I’ve been loving this spring.
Zoya “Blu” is a really really light blue creme. It is one of the lightest blues that I have in my collection. It looks so stark and crisp against my skin and I am absolutely in love. I dare to use the word “chalky” to describe this color, because I still don’t think I understand the meaning of that word in the beauty and nail communities. I think this looks exactly like light blue sidewalk chalk and I love the fact that it looks “chalky.” But it seems like when other people use that word, it has a negative connotation.
The formula on this polish is incredible for a light pastel. It seems like every light pastel creme that I have in my collection is streaky and requires 3 coats. This goes on so smooth with no streaks at all, and is completely opaque in 2 coats. The only complaint I have with this formula is that it seems to get thicker the longer it is used. When I start with the first coat on the first finger, its impeccable. But by the last finger on the second coat it is super thick and goopy. I can learn to deal with that because this color is absolutely worth it!
And I’ve previously compared this polish to another one of my favorite light blues in my collection, Essie “Borrowed and Blue”. You guys can check out that comparison post if you want to see if they’re dupes!
What do you guys think? Do any of you have this polish? What are your favorite light blues?
I really want to get my hands on this polish now!
Hopefully when I go to law school(like I’m planning) I can deal with it as well as you have! lol
Have a good break!<3
you should go to law school and you will do incredible! its hard but worth it. good luck!
I have a few Zoya crèmes and typically they all need a third coat, and they all get thick like that.
which are your favorite? most of mine only take 2 but i also do thicker coats sometimes
Almost forgot, London and Godiva Pixie Dust and they’re beautiful and really easy to work with.
I have Caitlin and Kristen, and they both get thick-ish. Really like Robyn, Faye, Kotori and Harley.
I love this one so much! I’m such a sucker for the blues and really have to show some restraint when looking at nail polish! lol I mean…how many blues does one person “need”?! Yeah, I know…JUST ONE MORE! lol I also love OPI’s What’s With the Cat-titude? and China Glaze’s Kinetic Candy. A few of my not-so-light blues are: butter LONDON’s Poole, Orly’s Snowcone and Frisky, Zoya’s Jo and Marina. 🙂
i’m the same way with green! i have so many and yet i still buy more! i just picked up like 6 more and its one of the colors that i have the most of. i love whats with the cattitude and kinetic candy too! those are great
Love this polish! I am loving the julep blue you send me 😀
awww i’m glad you like it!
I just got this today in my Ipsy bag! Chalky…YAY!!! I love chalky polish!!!
me too! it seems like people use it with a negative connotation but i love chalky looking nail polish. eye shadow on the other hand, i get how people use chalky as a negative term
