Throwback Thursday! Color Club “High Society”

IMG_6894Happy Thursday everyone! And welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday! Inspired by the Instagram hashtag, every Thursday I like to showcase an older polish in my collection that hasn’t gotten a lot of love from me in recent months.   It reminds me to reuse the polishes that I have in my collection and not just buy a polish and wear it once.

This week I have a polish that was given to me by my dear friend Zenorah! We did a swap about a year and a half ago and it was the first swap I ever did.  She sent me a ton of polishes but this one has always stood out to me.  I think it might be because its one of her favorite neutrals.  But it also stands out because its universally flattering and really beautiful.

IMG_6895Color Club “High Society” is a grey taupe creme.  This color is exactly what I think of when I think of taupe.  While it doesn’t have any purple tones to it, like other taupes, its that perfect light grey beige.  Colors like this one were really popular a few years ago but I’ve never stopped loving them.  They’re always my go-to shade for an interview or professional work day.  And that is when I wore this polish … for my first day of my summer internship.

IMG_6893The formula on this polish is amazing for a light creme.  Its perfectly opaque in 2 coats and dries pretty quickly.  It has the perfect consistency, not to thick not to thin, and really easy to control.  Means that I can get really close to my cuticles without flooding them, making my fingers and hands look longer and skinnier (I can use all the help I can get with the “skinnier”).  Overall, it’s just perfect and I understand why it’s one of Zenorah’s favorites.  It has turned into one of mine as well.

What do you guys think? What are your favorite neutrals? What are your favorite Color Clubs?
