Essie “Bikini So Teeny”

IMG_6810After my disappointing Essie experience yesterday, I had to turn to a polish to reinstate my faith in Essie.  Essie is a brand that seems very hit and miss … some people love it and some people don’t.  I normally fall in the latter category.  But every once in a while, Essie releases a polish that just blows my mind.  This happens to be one of them!

IMG_6811Essie “Bikini So Teeny” is a light blue with a little bit of a purple tone to it.  Its a light but bright blue periwinkle type creme.  It is absolutely stunning! While I happen to own a few polishes that are practically dupes (hint, maybe there’s a comparison post to come), this one holds a special place.  There is a very subtle shimmer that is apparent in the bottle, but doesn’t really translate to the nail.  Mostly, it just looks like a bright and flattering periwinkle blue!

IMG_6809The formula on this polish is pretty good.  The reason I am not in love with Essie is because I’ve had bad experiences with Essie formulas.  This one was a walk in the park compared to others that I have.  It was opaque in 2 coats, but does show the ridges in my nails.  So next time I wear this I’ll definitely bust out a ridge filler.  The consistency was a little on the thick side, but not unmanageable.  The dry time was pretty good too.  Overall, I really like this polish and I’m so happy that I finally picked it up!

What do you guys think? Do any of you have this? What are your favorite Essies?

  1. I agree that Essie is hit and miss with their formula. Usually the colors make me forget the bad formulas. I have this one and mine is thick as well. I love it!! So beautiful!
