I feel like a broken record typing this, but I am going to start doing a lot more makeup blog posts. I feel like my blog has been focusing primarily on nail polish for the last few months and I miss having the variety of makeup posts. So be prepared for more posts on new makeup products and various reviews! And my favorite makeup product of all time is definitely mascara!
I wear A TON of mascara. Seriously, I go through a tube in about a month and a half because I normally wear 3-4 coats of mascara. I get so excited to try out new mascaras and am always on the hunt for the perfect one for my lashes! So when my friend Mariska sent me a mascara from Bourjois, a brand that I don’t have access to, I was ecstatic to try it out!
The brush on this mascara is almost a comb style mascara. I’m trying to think of other mascaras that I’ve tried that has a similar brush but I can’t think of one right now. One side of the brush is a comb, with really long rubber bristles, and the other side has almost non-existent bristles. The formula was a little on the wet side, but not too wet where it was an issue.
What I like: I love that it separates my lashes and I love the length that it gives. It really makes my lashes look fluttery but natural. It doesn’t look like I’m wearing a ton of mascara, but it looks like my lashes are nice and defined. I really really like how this looks!
What I don’t like: This mascara gets everywhere. That is a downside to having a comb style brush that has long teeth. I get mascara all over my eye lids when I’m applying it. I always have to do cleanup and it drives me nuts.
Overall, this is a really nice mascara! It has turned into a great “base” mascara for layering. I use this as the first mascara in my layering experiment because it separates and defines all my lashes nicely. Then I load on a volumizing mascara and it gives me that crazy fake lash look that I like. I definitely would recommend this if you’re looking for a good mascara but know that you’re going to spend extra time with clean up!
