Milani Shadow Eyez Champagne Toast Review!

IMG_6582When I recently filmed by July Makeup Favorites on my YouTube channel, I included this in that video.  I’ve been wearing this product so much lately that it never occurred to me that I hadn’t blogged about it.  Then going through the “Future Blog Posts” folder, where I have a ton of pictures of products and swatches of nail polishes for blog posts to come, I noticed that there were pictures of of the Milani Shadow Eyez!

IMG_6585So I knew I had to blog about it right away, because I’ve been wearing this product every single day for the last few weeks.  But before you roll your eyes and think that this is going to be nothing but a glowing review, I definitely have some strong feelings about this product!

So keep reading to see swatches and to know all my pros and cons!

From Milani:

Big and blendable 2-in-1 color rich pencil  that can be used as shadow or liner. Creamy smooth, long-lasting, water-resistant, crease-proof and paraben-free formula. The next generation of shadows that you sharpen.

IMG_6586What I like: I absolutely love the color! I don’t know if I would call this a champagne, as the name suggests.  Champagne is more like a really like yellowy silver in my eyes, like the color of actual Champagne.  This is like a frosty pink shade.  Which really compliments my green eyes! I love that I can wear this really intensely and have that color all over my lids.  But this is also really blendable! So you can sheer it out and have a nice wash of color and shimmer across your lid.  Plus, once this sets, it lasts for a good 12 plus hours! It really does last a really really long time without fading.

What I don’t like: this thing creases on me like crazy!  It creases worse than any other product I’ve tried, especially for one that claims to be crease-proof.  If I don’t wear a primer, it creases on me within a half hour.   I normally wear a primer so it really isn’t an issue, but it definitely is something that is annoying.  To be on the safe side, I normally will apply this over a primer and then sit with my eyes closed for a minute or two to ensure that it sets and won’t crease.

Overall, this is a good product and I absolutely love the color but I can’t stand how fast it creases.  Once its set, this thing won’t go anywhere.  I think that if you’re looking for a product that has that pearly pink color, you might be better off going for Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade Inked in Pink, because it doesn’t crease as fast.

  1. I love these things, I haven’t noticed any creasing with this product. I use a primer with it and I dust an eyeshadow on top of it or some translucent powder. I am obsessed with the color Brown Deluxe it is so pretty!

    • i tried this as a base for some other shadows and damn it really makes other colors pop! so impressed. i’ll definitely check out the brow deluxe shade! thanks for reading and commenting!
