Loreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation Review!

IMG_6833When this product first came out, I fell in love! It was all over YouTube about 2 and a half years ago, right before I started my channel.  It was the first mousse consistency foundation that I had ever tried and was hooked.  I used the entire jar and then immediately repurchased.  Well, I blame YouTube on half of my beauty purchases and other foundations exploded online.

IMG_6834So this went unloved for a while.  I dug it back out to see if I could fall in love with it all over again.  The second time I tried it, I ended up hating it.  So back into the drawer it went.  It got me thinking that the first time I tried it, I loved it and the second time, I hated it.  I figured third times a charm to see how it really performs!

So how does this measure up? Keep reading to see this on my face and hear my full review!

IMG_6835The consistency of this is more like the food mousse rather than cosmetic or hair mousse.  It feels very airy and soft when you apply it to the skin.  And when you touch it in the jar it almost springs back a little bit.  It applies extremely smoothly onto the skin and dries to a powdery matte finish.

IMG_7362What I like: this foundation basically blends itself!  It glides on to the skin so easily and I barely have to try to blend it.  I love the feeling! It feels like silk on my skin until it sinks in and then I barely feel anything at all.  I also love the finish! I absolutely love the soft matte look but it isn’t harshly matte.   And I like how it isn’t completely full coverage, its more of a medium coverage foundation.

What I don’t like: this foundation tends to stick to any dry patch that I have on my face.  I think that’s why I didn’t like it the second time I tried it because I had really bad dry areas in the winter.  Also, this doesn’t stay on that long.  It really only lasts for about 6 hours before I notice that it has faded or worn off.  And it only controls oil for 4-6 hours as well.  Plus, this is really pricey for a drugstore foundation.

Overall, its a good foundation but not great.  I doubt that I’ll be repurchasing it again but I know I’ll get good use out of it.  I wish it lasted longer on my skin but I do love how it looks!
