Happy Thursday everyone! Today is another Picture Polish Thursday and I have another summer-y type of polish to share with you. I know that fall is quickly approaching, but I’m still trying to squeeze every last second out of summer that I can. If you guys have been following me for a while, then you know that I have a major love affair with yellow nail polish! I love pastel yellows in the spring, bright and neon yellows in the summer, and mustard yellows in the fall. It’s one of my favorite colors to wear, so I knew I had to get this polish on my nails right away.
And as a side note, I broke my index and pinky nails. I don’t have the balls to file down all of my nails to get them even unless its a REALLY bad break. When I get a little chip on a side or a small crack on the tip, I just file it to make it look alright. I wouldn’t have said anything, except someone pointed it out yesterday and I got embarrassed and felt like I had to address it. So that’s that and onto the polish!
Picture Polish “Mellow Yellow” is a light pastel yellow creme that has a little bit of a dusty tone to it. When I first saw this polish in the bottle I thought “oOoOo that’s a cross between a mustard and a pastel!” Well, once it’s on the nail its a full on pastel but it just isn’t as bright as others that I own. But that doesn’t take away from the gorgeousness that is this color.
The formula on this was good for a yellow. And if you’re a nail polish addict like I am, then you know what that means. Yellow’s seem to have their own category of formulas because they are notoriously tricky and difficult to get even. But this one was really nice! It took 3 coats to become opaque but it evened out nicely on the nail and never looked streaky. The formula was a tad on the thinner side, but not in a bad way. The dry time was great on the first 2 coats but slightly longer on the 3rd, but nothing to really complain about.
Overall, I really really like this polish but I am biased to all yellow shades! I do have another polishes that are probably dupes but I can never have enough yellows in my life!
