Happy October!! I am so excited that today is October 1st! In true “Holly” fashion, I was sporting a very classy blood-spatter manicure today! I get a little sentimental and every year to kick off the Halloween season I wear a blood-spatter mani for the first day in October. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time tonight to take those photos off my camera. However, I am going to participate in 1 (or 2!) nail art challenges for October, and one of the days is all about blood! So start getting excited for some fun Halloween inspired manicures.
So instead of my favorite bloody mess, I’m showing you another manicure that I loved this month and will probably wear a ton around the holiday season!
Deborah Lippmann “Shake Your Money Maker” is a dense chunky green glitter with gold chunky holographic glitter and green small glitter. This glitter bomb is all suspended in a clear base! I tried to get pictures where you could see just how much this polish shines! But in case you want to see this baby in action, stay tuned for my upcoming September Nail Polish Favorites on my YouTube channel!
The formula on this polish was a little on the thick side, but that’s because this glitter is so dense! This is 3 coats with NO undies! I heard that I might get some bald spots with this polish, but I didn’t experience that at all. It was perfectly opaque and now I’m interested to see what it looks like over an emerald green. The dry time was a little slower because of the 3 coats I had to do, but oh well! This is pure mermaid/money/Irish-pot-o-gold on my nails! I’m in love!
What do you guys think? What are your favorite Deborah Lippmann polishes?
My favorite glitter DL polish is Boom Boom Pow over Naked. I like the subtle P.Y.T for work.
oh i bet that would be awesome! i really want her new gold glitter too. thanks for commenting girl!
I want this one so bad… If I find it while I’m out, it will be mine! 🙂 Was it chunky at all? I hate when glitter polishes don’t apply evenly and leave a jagged edge sticking up.
it was perfectly smooth! i did need 2 coats of top coat to get it to not have a textured bumpy feeling, but all the edges stayed down perfectly. this would look awesome on you!
This polish is so amazing. It is SO you, too!
thanks melissa! i want the gold one soooo bad after seeing you layer it over golden eye! that was pure genous
I have one deborah lippmann polish ;). This polish looks like a mermaid skin
