OPI “Silent Stars Go By”

IMG_7892Happy Wednesday! I have another polish from the new OPI Mariah Carey collection for you guys today.  This is also the only liquid sand that I picked up out of the 6 that were released.  And I almost didn’t buy this shade. I kept going back and forth on whether or I should purchase it because I liked the color, but didn’t know how much I would wear it.  When I saw that OPI was at IMATS Toronto, all logic went out the window!

IMG_7890OPI “Silent Stars Go By” is a warm beige textured polish with silver hex glitter.  This polish has some serious shine to it! I love how this looks against my skin tone. Its classy and clean, while being fun and sparkly at the same time.  I honestly couldn’t stop staring at my nails when I had this on!

IMG_7889The formula on this polish polish was amazing.  It was completely opaque in 2 coats and dried really quickly.  This is also without any clean up around my cuticles. It was really easy to control and slightly thicker than your standard texture. And even though it was a little thicker than normal, it spread across the nail nicely and evenly.

IMG_7887I had to show you what it looked like with flash because it really brings out the warm, rose tone to this polish. My only complaint, and a HUGE complaint, is that this polish chipped on me almost instantly! I painted my nails with this at night, went to bed an hour later, and when I woke up 3 nails had chips.  And this happened to me with my other OPI Liquid Sands.

I may be boycotting liquid sand polishes because every one that I’ve tried has chipped within hours.  But I don’t want to give up hope on OPI yet because they have gorgeous colors!

What do you guys think? Did you get any of the Mariah Carey Liquid Sands?

  1. Not sure why I never came across your blog before, but I love your videos and posts! ^_^
Can you suggest a nail polish like this but not liquid sand? I really don’t like the textured kinds but I’m loving this shade and the shimmer.

    • awww thank you so much! ummm i don’t know too many off the top of my head that are a beige with a slight rose tone but butter london “all hail the queen” is close. if you like metallics or foils, orly “rage” is an amazing one too! i hope that helps

  2. Aww that’s a shame…I only have 2 OPI Liquid Sands (What Wizardry is This from the Oz collection, and Wharf! Wharf! Wharf! from the San Francisco collection). What wizardry is this lasted a few days on me actually, I loved it. But Wharf wharf wharf..ugh..it didn’t chip, but when I got out of the shower the next day, the polish looked like it had been “washed off” the little “sand texture particles”. 😦
