I have a very big soft spot for Deborah Lippmann glitters. I know that they aren’t in everyone’s budget, but after trying out my first one 3 years ago I haven’t gone back. Sometimes I think that you pay for what you get, and in this case you pay for pure luxury and awesome glitter! One of my newest DL glitters was one that I originally passed on and immediately regretted it. I managed to find a bottle all by its lonesome at my local Ulta and immediately snatched it up.
Deborah Lippmann “Glitter and Be Gay” is a gold holographic chunky glitter with gold microglitter and indigo blue chunky glitter. And WOW is this baby intense! This is 2 coats with NO underwear! Thats right, 2 coats on its own and totally opaque. And I had to take a blurry picture to show you just how holographic this polish is and just how much it shines! This is what it looks like all the time and its absolutely gorgeous!
While this is 2 coats, I did do some dabbing and manipulating to avoid bald spots. If you don’t want to do that, you can easily wear a polish underneath or go for a third coat. Also, I found that with chunky glitters like this, the easiest way to apply them to avoid bald spots is to apply a coat and while its still slightly tacky, press down on your nail with your finger tip to make sure all the glitters are flat. It dries really quickly so work fast. Also, this polish is really thick! So take your time.
What do you guys think? Do you have any DL polishes?
