Happy Friday!! A few weeks ago I started a new series called my “Friday Favorites!” Inspired by the popular videos on YouTube, I try to shine the spot light on some of my favorite products. These are products that I’ve either had for a while and rediscovered or ones that I use pretty regularly. I figured this would be a great way to give you guys a small taste at some of the products that I truly call favorites! Today, I have my first Mac cremesheen lipstick.
I picked this up at my local CCO back in September. Well, local is a bit of a stretch since it’s a 45 minute drive, so whenever I go I normally do some damage. I picked this up because it looked like the perfect every day shade of warm pink for an everyday lip! While I got this at a CCO, this is a permanent color from Mac so you can still get your hands on it.
I have to be honest … before this lipstick, I didn’t have the best luck with Mac lip products. Every one that I had purchased (all 2 of them before this), were a little bit of a disappointment. So I was a little hesitant to try out another one, but I had heard amazing things about the cremesheens! So seeing an amazing peachy-pink in a cremesheen formula for about 30% off, I didn’t think twice.
Mac describes Shanghai Spice as a frosted neutral pink. The word “frosted” immediately sends shivers through my spine because I get flashes of the worst 80s frosty pink lipstick. As you can tell from the swatch above, yes, it fits that bill! Frosty peachy-pink. I’m glad that I didn’t just rely on the swatch because this lipstick is gorgeous when you have it on.
As you can tell, this is definitely a gorgeous every day lip color. It isn’t as frosty on the lips as my picture makes it appear. Its just a result from the lights that I use in my filming room. It is a great every day lip color and because its a cremesheen, its very comfortable on the lips. The wear isn’t the longest, but it fades in a way that looks very natural.
I absolutely love this lipstick and it has inspired me to pick up a few more Mac cremesheens. I actually have the Mac website up on my computer right now and its taking all my willpower not to just add a ton to my cart and check out.
What do you guys think? What are your favorite Mac lipsticks and finishes?
